Charged for calling to ticket SM res that couldn't be booked online

I tried on 3 separate occasions to ticket a reservation to YUL online from 3 diff computers. All said to call, so on the third time, I called to ticket thinking that I there would be some flag in the PNR to not charge since I did exercise due diligence to avoid the fee. So I call and the agt is kinda snipy and quick to get me off the phone. I get the email receipt and realize not only was the $5 charged, the agt didn't disclose any fees not even Sept 11th security fee(major DOT violation). Not even a half mention of it...Don't know if it is still that way but when I worked at DL, you had to explicitly state September 11th, not "nine eleven" or 9-1-1.

Anyway I call back and am put on hold for about 15mins and then the agt comes back and says they aren't done yet, she takes my email and says they'll send the new receipt, that was on the 16th. Part of me wonders if she was trying to wait me out as unless they've introduced some novel reissuing practices since I left reservations at the end of last year, it shouldn't take that long[even if they had to manually do the fare calc]. It's a simple vanilla rt from TPA-YUL.

I have all the pertinent info including the first agt's sine and loc, and the second agt's first name and location. Though $5 is like 30 packets of ramen [grad student] lol and won't financially break me, am I crazy for thinking of sending an email just for principle?
