With QF, 'R' class is a Coach fare bucket.
And, Yes, you should complain, very firmly; Qantas LCC offshoot Jetstar are taking over Oz-CHC.
They do NOT offer business class!

I would call Qantas and request to be re-routed. If they say they can't do this, tell the agent in a firm but nice manner: "That's Unacceptable".
Also, Qantas link are starting to use one class 717's PER-DRW so no J/D/I in these either.
For example on 29th October there are two direct flights:
•at 8:05am QF792 is a 2 class 73H and has "J9 D9 I0 U2 Y9 B9 H9 ...".
•at 11:45am QF1942 (via ASP) is a 1 class 717 and has "Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 R9 ..."
