Here's the deal. Clinique's polish is formulated w/o Toluene or Formaldehyde. Clinique still has the polish available on the website to order. If they do discontinue the line, there are a number of other manufacturers that offer "almost" natural polishes that use fewer chemicals. Many of them offer more shades and cost less than Clinique. I don't know about MAC, specifically, but I've always found the staff there very knowledgable and helpful.
My manicurist was MILITANT about my using Clinique during my pregnancies. She even made me go and purchase some to keep at home so I wouldn't be tempted to use OPI between visits to her.
Please note:
I am NOT stating that one should use a particular brand of nail polish, nor am I judging anyone who wore OPI every day of their pregnancy. Everyone has their own opinion on these matters, and I respect
all of them. I just had to deal with my manicurist, 'cause I certainly couldn't manage a pedicure on my own after, oh, about month four.
Also, there is a reason most polishes have certain chemical compositions. They are mixed in to strengthen the nail, maintain color and durablility, etc. My Clinique polishes chipped and wore thin quicker than OPI. They also separated in the bottle quicker.
If you like a French manicure, you might want to try "Skinny Dippin in Lake Michigan ". It is a nude shade, with slight hints of gold. It does not go well with pinks, however, as it is more on the tan side.
Dorlee Thanks for the endorsement. I will try it. My skin has a yellow undertone (thanks to my Mediterranean heritage) so I tend to avoid tan/taupe/gold/yellow/orange shades.
