Last time we went to Europe we had Delta BE on 777 going over and AF Affairs 777 on the way back so we got a good head to head comparison of legroom. There is definitely less pitch (specifically 55 vs 60 inches according to seatguru.com) on the AF aircraft, although you can still get full extension of the seat and footrest of course. We were in 11H,J in BE and 6F,G on AF on the way back. Moving beyond the fact that both are fabulously better in both comfort and service than sitting in the back, the only observation that I would make is that with three in the middle on AF and less pitch, it is impossible for the middle person to get out without bumping or stepping over you if you are in full recline on the aisle, so if it is known that the bulkhead has enough room for the middle person to get in and out easily I would take it. But, not knowing exactly how much more legroom there is in the bulkhead I'm not sure if this is a problem in those seats as well. I suppose the person on the window would have the same problem. Since my wife and I were traveling together she got the middle and I can't complain about her trying to step over or around me although she complained that I should have put my footrest down each time. I think it would have been more uncomfortable to have blocked in someone I didn't know. I didn't think the AF seats reclined enough, but they are wide and comfortable otherwise. I did like the privacy of the front cabin. Looking back I'm not sure that I really addressed the question at hand, service and food are fantastic on AF in Affairs and we just have to get along with others as far as letting people in and out, etc when stuck on a plane for hours anyway right?
Edit:All comments referring to the "old" AF Affaires seats
