I'm flying IAH-ORD-LHR tomorrow at 1725 and received an email from BA today which says...(I've bought wine, water and snacks and we'll eat at the airport...not much on offer at IAH though)
I am writing with regards to the British Airways flight you are taking over the next few days that is departing from or arriving into London Heathrow.
As a valued member of the British Airways Executive Club, I would like to make you aware of the current problems we are experiencing with our onboard catering due to unofficial industrial action by workers at our Heathrow catering supplier,Gate Gourmet.
At present all British Airways flights departing from and arriving into London Heathrow have limited onboard catering. Whilst there will be some catering provided at the airport before your flight departs, at present we advise passengers, especially those with special dietary requirements to eat before arriving at the airport.
British Airways services to and from London Gatwick and UK regional services that do not connect with London Heathrow are not affected.
We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this situation may cause you and would like to assure you that we are doing all possible to return to the high service standards you have come to expect from us.
Once again thank you for your cooperation at this difficult time.
Yours sincerely,
Martin George
Commercial Director, British Airways
