I had to connect there in June (PIT-PHL to pick up younger brother-OAK) and really didn't like having to go through security again (for some reason, thankfully, the TSA staff didn't insist on shoe removals).
I hear they're working on a roped-off security bypass for connections. I don't know when it will be up and running though. HOU has that double-security mess too.
