hi, my father asked me to help a friend out, whose luggage was mistakenly taken by another customer. long story short, his luggage was returned to him the following night. in the meantime, he had to purchase some essentials, totaling about $150. how can he be reimbursed for these expenses?

p.s. his luggage was returned to him sunday night (and he had a meeting monday morning, which was why he purchased a pair of shoes, tie, etc.).

also, he arrived at EWR from Narita.
