Were you unable to register online as well? It seems to me that it is possible these promotions are open to anyone who is preffered provided that did not have some type of status match already this year (i.e. earned it the regular way last year). My registration went through online, but have yet to call. Has anyone been able to register online only to be told that they were not eligible on the phone?
Also, had anyone confirmed that the double status miles count in this case? Often, challenge type promotions tend to be BIS miles.
