I just started staying with Hilton and noticed that right when I was about to book, it states that "Rates quoted are based on check-in date and length of stay. Should you choose to depart early, price is subject to change." I've always stayed at Marriott's before, and they never increase my rate if I reduce the days, even if I reduce it to just one day -- the daily rate stays the same.
I'm booking now for a 7-night stay using the Best Available Rate, and might reduce it to 4 or 5 days later. I would still be there on Friday and Saturday, so would they really increase my rate if I reduced the number of dates I'm staying?
Also has anyone ever booked each day separately so they can reduce the dates later if needed?
