I still think this is shocking - you have a Blue card after all. And have put literally tens of pounds of revenue BA's way over the years...

The original story demonstrates no understanding of how OpUps, etc. 'work' in general. Every single one I've ever had has been done at the airport itself. Calling up asking for (demanding in many cases I suspect?) an OpUp is bound to yield a negative response over the phone - and at worst it sounds like people trying to benefit from the fiasco and wangle an OpUp. The people who asked would be the last ones I'd OpUp in this situation. And any travel agent who actually advised this as the article says clearly knows nothing either! Sigh.

More bad PR for BA though, it has to be said And shame on VS for having a dig like that in their quote. I hope nothing goes badly wrong for them one day like this
