I don't live in a hub city, and I wasn't offered "EasyPlat." It's when they offered everyone else that one that I decided it wasn't even worth flying the addl. 1,200 miles I needed to qualify for Silver next year. I'm Plat, but have been mainly burning CO miles for my flying this year. Silver is useless if everyone else is Plat. And status is only worth something if I'm actually flying CO, which I'm not.

OTOH, I fell short of UA Premier by 9,000 miles (only flew one flight with UA last year...SNA-LAX-SYD-LAX-SNA ). And UA did offer me the opportunity to extend my qualification period. And, I think I'll take them up on it. In addition, any miles flown Jan.-Mar. will count toward both 2003 and 2004 qualification. Not a bad deal for $25! Wonder if CO will offer me Silver for $400 and 30,000 miles? HAHAHAHA!!!

May even crank up enough miles on UA's weekend specials to make PremEx! Yep, UA weekend specials go to real travel destinations like Bangkok, Singapore, London, Munich, New York, etc...not just to Rochester, Cleveland, Albany, etc.
