AA did a targetted promo (not sure who or how many got it) of a similar vein - qual for Platinum (AA's 2nd elite tier) by flying 10,000 miles by March 31.

I am curr AA Gold, and only flew about 10,000 this year.

My expectation is that if CO were doing a promo, we would have seen it by the 15th. Could be there was a targetted one, although I would not have gotten it, having qualed for Gold by the "Challenge".
