I guess if they all "agreed" that they wanted to save costs... then each person should pay 1/3rd.

If however, the couple was going and offered to have the other person to go along... then the couple should pay the entire cost... you would have anyway.

Of course, I would hope the "single" person would pick up some meals... or a car... or something...
