You have to take the (free) hotel shuttle from the Hilton, it's definitely too far to walk. (I have stayed there several times myself). I don't know about the Sheraton. Your parents can take the train into Amsterdam Central Station from right inside Schiphol. Meanwhile I recommend the airport website for more information:
