I WAS very grateful that the supervisor was able to rearrange the schedule.

The part I couldn't understand was how it could be a stopover on the return when there was no scheduled flight to my destination any earlier. The prior flight left almost to the minute at the time I was landing and the next one was nearly six hours later. There were no other flights.

Ironically, on the day prior there WAS a flight between the two. Apparently they dropped it on 7/1. At least that's the way it showed up on Delta's online reservation system. I was searching for fare seats, not award, and the middle flight on 6/30 didn't show for 7/1.
