The Danish ice cream bar incident: A story of the modern SAS
I am a UK 1k in the SAS lounge about to connect to LHR. Apparently my Helsinki to Copenhagen flight was overbooked, since they upgraded me with my "deeply discounted" H ticket to economy flex, which meant I got a skimpy sandwich without having to pay for it.
Midway through the flight they announced they were selling Danish ice cream bars, skipped Flex, and sold them throughout economy. They then came back and handed them out in Business, but again bypassed Flex (even though there were bunches still available).
So apparently two rows of passengers couldn't get ice cream at any price -- although everyone else could. What a strange way to run an airline.
I hate these "pay toilet flights," where everything is for sale, sort of!
