I had a similar situation with hands free corded earpiece. I was going to buy just an earpiece. Then I found out I could buy a whole package from people who no longer need their old phone since they have traded up to the latest phones. For the same price as one earpiece, I got an old phone, earpiece, wall plug-in charger, car plug-in charger and sometimes a spare battery.
