Hotels: Barcelona, Madrid and Seville

Planning November trip to Spain, and seeking hotel recommendations, 100-150 Euro range, for modest but comfortable accommodations in the above cities. We prefer small to medium sized hotels with some "personality" of their own, and other than the tiny shower stalls, most of what USAians complain of, doesn't bother us. I like the morning coffee to be hot and the bread to be fresh, but I don't need scrambled eggsd to convince me that the sun has risen, and a few tapas will allow me to survive until the dark hours at which folks finally dine.

For Barcelona, do any readers know of such a hotel at the lower end of the Ramblas or in the nearby old quarter of the City?

For Madrid and Seville, I'm looking for hotels convenient for sighseeing and centrally located.

We'll work the sites and guidebooks, but I set great store by the personal reactions of fellow travelers.

Spanish is probably the best of my "get by in" languages, hardly up to colloquial status, but almost capable of modest dialogue.
