Assuming you're referring to flight 85, which is the 10:55pm PDT departure to PIT, it looks pretty full in coach (7 seats left) with 14 unassigned seats in first. The limited availability in coach is probably why you haven't been able to get an assigned seat yet.

You can check availability and seats by doing dummy bookings at http://www.flyaow.com/classavailability.htm - I usually use the Carlson engine. It may not be 100% accurate but it's usually pretty good.

Beware though that transcontinental flights in the summer are often some of the hardest even for those with status to upgrade on, so I wouldn't get your hopes up too high. Definitely try though.
