Other suggestions (not lodging)

Restaurants come and go quickly. Some new ones that are worth checking out

Look
139 East Andreas Road
(mixed buy mostly gay)

Plum
241 East Tahquitz Canyon Way
(exclusively gay, Sunday brunch is very popular)

Manhattan in the Desert
2665 East Palm Canyon Drive
(not gay, but gay popular, a New York deli with huge portions)

The Villa Resort and Butterfield's Adobe Restaurant
67-670 Carey Rd.
(exclusively gay, not new but has been undergoing remodeling for almost a year. They now have a dinner theater, dinner and show is $59). I haven't eaten there since it reopened, however.
Update
The dinner theater is not in the restaurant (yet), it is outside by the pool and they are catering dinner. Currently the theater is on the lawn next to it. The restaurant/theater remodel is still not complete yet. They now say that it should be complete by mid September. However, from the amount of work left to complete it, I doubt it. Once it is complete, it looks like it will be very nice though.

Patrick's Roadhouse
611 South Palm Canyon Drive
(in Sun Center shopping center near Heaven)
This is a branch of the restaurant in Santa Monica where Arnie liked to have breakfast. It is cheap roadhouse food, not exclusively gay.
