There was some speculation months ago that the DL/NW/CO (or whatever order 3, 4, and 5 go in) code-sharing had been proposed primarily to thwart UA/US.

In the current NW/CO code sharing agreement, markets with limited competition (such as to GUM and SPN) are excluded anyway.

There is no reason that could not also be done with DL.
