When I travel with him will I have any problem making the reservation in his name and using my credit card to pay for the room? Do I need to bring his passport so the front desk does not think I am using a relatives name for the reservation? Any other issues I should anticipate?

Thanks

Yes. Most Starwood Hotels have started asking for ID on check-in. They claim thiis is for "security" post 9/11, but I suspect it is to stop other people from riding on the backs on Premimium members just like the Delta Crown Room now also asks for Picture ID besides the Crown Room Card.

So, unless the kid is with you and has a id (passport?) and you pay with cash, I suspect you are going to have problems.
