I actually realized that there is no F on NZ. I chose the option of a direct flight to AKL in order to have a total mileage of less than 29000. I visited the NZ website and found out that they are going to have a new Business Class, which I think sounds and looks very promising. The new Business Premier will feature lie-flat beds, so I think it's alright. Another reason for choosing NZ on this flight is that they fly with B777. I am well aware that SQ does fly B777 as well as NZ does, but the C on NZ's 777 looks way better than the F on SQ's 777, and I want to be flying B777 at least once on my journey with a "real" bed.
Thanks for the hint of using TG instead of NZ from AKL to SYD, that works out just fine. What I was wondering is: Does TG have PTV on their planes? Because I heard that they don't. I checked their website again and found out that they do by now on most of their long-haul planes, even AVOD.
Now that I know that TG has AVOD in C and F, I might change my mind and fly back to Europe via BKK on TG. Do you know how many miles I get for flying TG or SQ in F when enrolled in LH m&m? 200%? or even less?
I am currently only a member of Delta Sky Miles, but I was thinking about enrolling in LH m&m before leaving on the RTW. And I don't quite know if that would be the best choice.
I definitely need to visit the LH Hon/First Terminal in FRA. I saw a documentary on TV about it and it looked sooooo good.
thanks again,
Sören
