The only oblique relation is that both aircraft were primarily manufactured within miles of each other in France... The Tunisair ATR-42 (Avions de Transport Régional) final assembly and manufacturing of nacelles occurs in Toulouse, France, which is also the site of ATR's main headquarters. The Air France Airbus was primarily assembled in Toulouse, where EADS specializes in assembling wide-body Airbus models (A330-340). Airbus Integrated Company is owned 80% by EADS and 20% by the British firm BAE Systems. Its headquarters is also based in Toulouse, France.
