I consider myself very lucky. I could quit tomorrow and worst that would happen to me is my ulcer would clear up I have a spouse whose income supports the family and an education I can use elsewhere. I did this job because I thought it was fun. I really feel for those who rely on the paycheck. Granted, we all knew this was coming but not everyone was in a position to prepare themselves.

As far as when to draw the line? I heard a rumor that the company was going to ask us to share hotel rooms. That is when I make my dramatic exit on this career. It may have worked when my mom was stew back in the day but it doesn't fly now!

Currently we get "day" rooms when we have a sit of 4 or more hours. We get 1 room for 4 people. If you are on a DC-9 crew and your flying partner is a male you still only get 1 room. I opt to sit at the airport in that scenario.
