LOL, supporting the local team because they are consistently good and deserve the praise is one thing, supporting the local team as a pathetic bunch of losers that they are is quite another issue altogether!

I cannot help it, I was born in Brooklyn and spent my youth supporting the Mets and Jets, true torture. Yankee distaste is a fine sport where I grew up. I was rescued just in time to become a Cardinals fan in St. Louis where baseball has been more about the game itself than about its surroundings and the entertainment "choices" inside and outside the ballpark. But old habits die hard and given the record of the local teams I suppose "true" Chicago fans need other things to keep them interested in the game!
