I've heard of more than one FTer who does this.

Uh, anyone at SFO around 7:00 PM? (No, I won't be, but I have certainly seen this on FT as well.) It ain't illegal or against AA T&Cs, so if you have the assertiveness to do this properly, behave so it doesn't negatively reflect on the inviting member, go for it... Yes, having ZipLoc bags in your pocket for nut mix is considered in bad form!

I've invited folks in myself - last time, at DFW "A" - two guys headed back to GUA after a couple of years in the US studying / working. They were duly impressed - particularly with the FREE APPLES! They were concerned they couldn't afford the munchies or apples - I told them "Go ahead, they are free for members and their guests." They did, and I confess here to having committed a terrible, evil deed :cringing: - and told them to "take one for the road." (I remember apples sold on Guatemala City's streets were individually wrapped and about US$1.00 each, when $1.30 A DAY was the minimum wage.)
