I've had it in C only out of HKG and cannot complain. The rice is a bit undercooked v. my taste, but this special meal option is one meal i usually finish.

My condolances on your kesari. I used to collect the Habshi Halva hockey pucks to give to family/friends...they used to give these nice meals even on mid-cons!
I don't think it's very good out of SFO or NRT (it's edible, just not very good), but agree with you on all the others. In fact out of LAX it's downright excellent!

It's odd, but you're right that the rice is often undercooked in Y, but in C the actual curries are often overcooked. Interesting observation.

I actually love the Habshi Halwa. I collect them, take them home with me and keep them in the fridge for a bit and they're really great. The hot Indian meal showed up on ORD-SFO for me in June (when everyone else got a cold meal), so it does still exist on a mid-con occasionally. Oddly on my May ORD-HKG flight, I got some weird vegan thing, but it said Indian veg on it.

Bottom-line, my main beef is with ORD catering. That said, it's always a great choice in coach: in business its less stellar.
