Look what happened to EWR-OAK when JetBlue started JFK-OAK. It took a while, but CO eventually surrendered and pulled out.

Granted OAK has alternate airports (SFO and SJC), so CO wasn't abandoning transcons from the Bay in the least. But I'm not sure Gordo is interested in an all-out fare war on EWR-LAS. In the short term, anything can happen, but in the long run, I wouldn't be surprised to see a capactity reduction from CO on this route.
