I'm going to have to look into Skype (to call PSTN) again. When I tried to sign up before, they weren't able to process Canadian credit cards.

Some of the VoIP guys complain that Skype is proprietary or something (vs. open-standard SIP), not sure if that's an issue. For sure that part's off-topic since the average consumer/user (including me) doesn't really care about proprietary as long as the phone rings at the other end!
