As much as I'd hate to give CO some credit, I think they're due a little with regard to their elite phone number. I can relate at least one benefit to having an elite number.

Unlike the regular reservations numbers, the elite number gives you 24 hour OnePass ticketing.

This saved me once when, around midnight, I wanted to get a ticket for a flight at 7am the next morning. If I had to depend on the regular reservations numbers, I would have been S-outta luck, since they couldn't do OnePass until well after the flight left. But with the elite line, I was able to do it right away and get a ticket for that flight in the middle of the night.
