It is not in the CP district. The Taj Ambassador is near Khan Market, about 15-20 minutes away from CP by car when traffic at a key intersection is not an issue.

The Taj (Mansingh) is a bit closer to CP than the Taj Ambassador but by about two minutes in car. For an idea of relative distances to each other: the Taj Mansingh is a 7-minute walk to Khan Market if you can cross over a busy road (for a pedestrian) in a timely manner, and the Taj Ambassador is a 2-minute walk to Khan Market. To CP, both hotels are about the same with the Taj Mansingh being closer.

The Taj (Mansingh road) is certainly a better hotel than the Taj Ambassador, but the Taj Ambassador (which was not a Taj-branded hotel until 2004) is more recently renovated (although I don't know what they did to the rooms). The Taj Ambassador is cheaper than the Taj Mansingh.
