Forgive the ignorance from a veteran UA flyer...

But I have a few flights on AA that are waitlisted for upgrades using miles. I can obviously pull up the reservation in "My Reservations" -- there's no indication that I'm on a waitlist, but the phone agents tell me so.

If/When the WL clears, will there be a note telling me to call? Will I get an email (yes, my email is in the records)?

Any steps I should take to ensure that the upgrade doesn't clear and I miss it?
