The experts have been predicting "the big one" in the Pacific NW for quite a while -- let's hope this was it. Considering the magnitude and reach of this one, we're all considering ourselves pretty lucky that the injuries, loss of life, and property damage weren't a lot worse.

I was on the 18th floor of a building with about 50 stories, one that is on "rollers" for earthquake protection. It was a pretty mindboggling experience. My 90 year old house, which has been through these several times before over the last century, did just fine, with nothing damaged at all!

Hope everyone else up here in the NW is doing well.
