And according the the UA timetable it's 196 miles as the crow - or CRJ - flies. Lordy, they could and maybe should have sent the kids home in a cab.
Sneezy, are you crazy??? A TAXI from Denver to Montrose??? The air miles may only be 196 , but the actual driving mileage is just a hair under 300 miles. Not to mention the fact that this would take at the very best 4-5hrs. This of course assumes no stops for fuel, food, or bathrooms. Not sure if you realize the differences in driving in this part of the country over passes where you have to go up past 11,000ft (albeit paved, but still, power is a defniite limiting factor for speed). Not to mention the less than frequent places to stop for food, bathroom, etc. I cannot think of any company short of a private limousine service that would even think about doing this route anyways besides Greyhound...not to be attacking, but seriously...
