With 37.5 weeks of travel a year, you can achieve PM Lite. Why would you need to get status earlier in the year? Maybe you don't travel that many weeks? I average 4 of 5 weeks a year on the road and the occasional Y for rebooking assures me of PM. Hub travellers have it much harder. If they aren't travelling long distances each week, they can't make PM without alot of Y fares.
