<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">I've always thought that counting additional miles towards next year's status hunt makes a whole lot of sense. If someone flies 150K in one year, why not make them platinum an extra year? If they don't fly much the following year, you've lost basically nothing, but you do increase the odds of retaining their loyalty if their travel picks up again in subsequent years</font>
Check the DL board. Apparently, DL has just sent out notices to it's top tier who have already qualified for 2003 that any additional miles flown on DL between 10/15 and 12/15 will be counted towards 2004 status.
