Well rereading my post I don't think I was commenting at all on seats or meals, but more in terms of seating allocations on the flight. And taking the detail at the time from associates in BA ops, and finding it was fully borne out by my flight experiences, I think I'll stick with my comments. Of course, at the end the "peasants" were nearer 100% than 50% of the load.
