I remember in the "good old days" when the galleys were down below (like the DC-10/L-1011) and they could actually cook food on board, so you'd get hand-carved roasts and such in First. With so much space, it would have been nice if Airbus had been able to find a way to bring some of that back with the A380 (even if on the main deck), instead of the current practice of pre-cooking on the ground and re-heating it in flight. I believe some of "the Nationals" can cook things like breakfast eggs to order, but it would have been nice to actually bake a fresh veal chop or grill a steak (even if on an electric grill instead of charcoal/gas).
