If time is short and you can't try a true shopping run, there are some food shops in the terminal buildings at LHR that you could try. There's a Whistlestop in each of T1, T2 and T3 (just outside the exit from Customs at T1 international arrivals landside, opposite the exit from Customs at T2, and tucked into a corner of T3 arrivals).
