Being from the Detroit Metro area (many years ago) I would say that you might just as well see what's left of the city if that's the destination. There is a lot to do, Greektown, Detroit Museum of Arts, famous for Rodin's "The Thinker" fronting the entrance, the ability to cross over between Windsor, Ontario and back again in just a few minutes. (Take your passport). Try Sinbad's for a casual dinner on the Detroit River and watch the pleasure craft and freighters sail by.

Do be careful to stay safe as the crime rate is very high.
