You're probably the first person they had ever seen who had ever played HoKeY and ACTUALLY WON! Of course they didn't know what they were doing. They're only used to dealing with the angry mobs who didn't get their HoKeY BF seat, while seats are filled with non-revs amd their buddies, or go out empty.
My husband and I are flying COS-IAH-HNL on a K fare (it was the lowest at the time) in November. I called yesterday to see how the prospects looked for clearing the waitlist (both Platinum). The agent I talked to checked the outbound and return and said that it looked EXTREMELY doubtful that we would clear. "Don't plan on it", she said, but "of course, if they should happen to release some seats before the 72 hour cutoff, you will be high on the list."
I immediately checked availability on ITN:
A9 F9 Z9 E0 both ways! It will probably stay that way until 48 hours before the flights.

How much was the K fare? If there's space available you may be able to do a $250 revenue upgrade at check-in or the gate. Also, depending on your budget you might just want to buy up to the D fare ($2600 r/t). This is one of the few routes where I feel that BF is reasonably priced for the service provided and the length of the flight.
