I would not lie...but being a moving target and playing dumb might be a good strategy. They have never stopped me while walking arround, only once or twice when I was surfing. If approached after 3 am I think the best thing is to cooperate, say you lost track of the time, are going off to clear immegration shortly and then head for the starbucks/burger king on the outside of terminal 2.

I also think if you are in the shagra la/rainforest lounge or one of the restaurants or up by the hotel they are less likely to bother you.

I am not sure if the transit hotel will do a reservation if you are not connecting the next day...of course you can always tell the hotel you are planning on going out on UAXXX. Fibbing to them is less likely to cause problems.
