Sounds familiar. I flew from NY to CA on Monday on a US flight that had mechanical problems and the GA did not once make an announcement as to the status of the flight which had be delayed by an hour and a half at this point. Finally I approched the GA and she said that had made two announcements in the boarding area (which I never left and was paying attention the whole time). Ultimately the flight was delayed 3 hours and a bunch of people were re-routed on other US flights randomly and again without announcement but I didnt care as I wasnt going to miss my connection. Since I am a UA 1K and this was US I thought I would receive some preferrential treatment but I didn't. The best I got was to board in zone 3 instead of 6. I was REaLLY unimpressed with US and will try and never fly them again if possible. Sorry for this rant but it really annoyed me and I've never experienced anything like it on UA. Sorry you had to endure the same.
