I rented a car from Cork in January...best I could do was using the AAdvantage code...and I should note that the agent asked to see my AAdvantage card.

However, I have to say that everyone I dealt was efficienty and pleasant...my travel schedule changed three times due to flight delays, but upon arrival in Cork a brand new Nissan Primera (very well equipped, I might add) was waiting for me. Inside the car was a pack of information including a number of nicely detailed maps, the big green B&B book, and some local Cork stuff.
