Turn the music down, please.
I have not found the chit-chat by the FAs to be any more or less frequent on song than any other Delta flight. However, the captain does seem to use the PA system more than on Delta mainline. I haven't bought a movie on a song flight yet so I don't know if the movie pauses the way that it does on IFE system of a transatlantic flight. The satellite TV system definitely does not pause when the captain starts going on and on about how happy they are to have us on their flight. That is annoying. Maybe it is because I am a biz traveler and I travel alone most of the time that it annoys me when the PA system is overused by the crew.
There is one thing that annoys me quite a bit about song flights. I prefer to sit in row 1. I get boarded in zone 1 and served first. However the speaker for the PA system is located just above my head. They play the music way too loud while people are boarding. One wouldn't notice it if seated in rows that are not close to the speakers but everyone in row 1 is visibly annoyed by it. We are talkin' LOUD! When I board I like to pull out my DVD player while the rest of the plane boards. The IFE system is not operable during boarding and the music is so loud I can't hear my DVD player. I bought a volume booster just to combat the loud music.
Other than the music issue (which, granted, is only the first 30 minutes of the trek) I find song to be an above-average way to travel. I have take about 10 segments on song and have found the crews to be consistently pleasant, hard-working, and attentive. The delays I have experienced have only been due to weather (Dennis in particular).
