This might belong on trip reports, however there is a complaint side to the summary.

Recently I flew from ORD-KIX (BNA-ORD-KIX-GUM) on a business trip to Guam; this is my 6th trip this year on these exact same flights, but all of the others were flown in E+. I was able to upgrade my ticket and use miles to bring Mrs. PLTHOO with me for an extended trip - needless to say we were excited for the experience in Business. Seats were nice (previously have flown domestic in the biz class 777 seats), and we were in 9H/J (the mini-cabin). The individual area was nice as it was easy to get up, move around, and stretch, however having the galley immediately behind us was a little bothersome. Now to the complaint and looking for some of your common experience:

1. Service was consistent and polite, however some of the FA's seemed bothered if we got up to ask for water in the middle of the flight. They also seemed to expect us to sleep all of the way over and were annoyed when we got up to walk around and ask for a snack, etc.

2. We were denied an adult beverage 3 times and told the FA's are under strict instructions to monitor everyone's alcohol consumption and monitor the combination of drinks. I am all for keeping people from getting completely hammered, but in an upgraded class of service they might be more flexible. Also considering we were denied after not having anything else to drink----as in watching a movie with water after having our last drink 2 hours ago....being told they were not going to serve for another hour at least. Additionally we were denied at one point because the first shift of FAs went back to sleep---and the second shift didn't have our "drink history" therefore they couldn't serve us. This was also a little frustrating as when we asked, we got up to ask, were polite, were not slurring our words, and standing up straight. I have actually had more to drink and have been able to induce an "alcohol sleep" while sitting in coach on these same flights.

We both commented on how we had more drinks (quantity) on a flight from ORD-SEA (3 hours) in 777 business than the 13 hour transpac.

3. A lot of talk on the food threads on wine selection, etc., however the flight only boarded 1 of the wines listed on the menu; the rest were others.

4. On approach into KIX I like to listen to Ch.9, and have been able to do so the last 5 trips, however the FAs demanded the headphones on the descent even though I pleaded to keep them.

5. During one short conversation with a FA, she asked with whom I was flying with-----Mr. and Mrs. PLTHOO I guess didn't help her out-----and I informed her my wife. She proceeded to tell me she looked really young and she didn't know if she was even old enough to drink. She actually asked for her passport to verify!

6. The usual technical glitches as in 2 of the movies were garbled and unwatchable throughout the flight.

Somehow I thought the flight experience would be a big upgrade from coach, however besides having more legroom and better food, the rest of the experience was a little dissapointing.

Looking for feedback on similar experiences, or if this is a rarity.
