I also tried making dummy bookings for SEP 29. It is possible to book BOS-ORD-SJC or BOS-DEN-SJC but I didn't get T fares. Of the BOS=XXX=SJC choices for that day BOS-ORD-SJC booked in V for $317.30, BOS-IAD-DEN booked in V for $337.30, and BOS-DEN-SJC booked in V for $317.30.

Only BOS-LAX-SJC booked in T for $217.30.

Then again, I also tried flights on OCT 01 and found UA409 through DEN in T for $212.80. Perhaps the agent steered me wrong?
