I'm sure this has been discussed before but I can't seem to find it in the archives. I am a frequent traveler in F, normally upgraded, on both UA and AA. I have come across a variety of methods of food service order: odd flight numbers start at the front, even at the back; eastbound v. westbound; etc...

My wife was flying from LGA-DEN yesterday in F where they served the food, according to the FA serving her, in order of status. Thus 1Ks or paid F got their choice of selection first, then the rest as you would expect according to status, with the FA zig-zagging all over the cabin until she finally got to my wife. She has no status per se on UA but I had bought her F ticket using miles, full boat. She ultimately did not get a choice since she was last on the list and asked the FA why she had chosen to go in no obvious order when asking for meal preferences. The FA responded in apparently a snotty tone saying "on United we do serve by status/miles flown..."

I've never heard/seen that in several million BIS miles flown on any airline. Anybody else here have an experience like this? Just curious...
