I have been one of COs best supporters over the years. IMHO, CO is the problem, not us passengers. I might be willing to think about a few of your suggestions AFTER CO changes its pricing model. Two real time examples today from the CO website.
1. I need to go from Central New Jersey to Portland on a Wednesday in November and return the next day. The prices from 'local' airports EWR-50 min, PHL= 70min, LGA=90 min, JFK=75 min: EWR-$2,300+, PHL-$397(which I booked, a 'B'fare), JFK/LGA abut $400.
2. I need to go to MSY on Monday in November and return the next day. EWR=$1,300. PHL=$207(booked), JFK/LGA $191.

Until CO stops trying to sell $400 tickets to some poor sucker for $2,300, I think they are beyond help and nothing we say or do will make any diffence. Again, IMHO.
